Jennifer Halsey Evans of Chapel Hill and San Francisco has served high-growth medical technology companies for 25 years as an investor, board member and senior executive in strategy and finance. She focuses on capital-efficient execution and has worked collaboratively with entrepreneurs and shareholders to determine the optimal path for value creation and the ideal timing and process to engage in partnership discussions. Her portfolio has included companies with innovative products in interventional neuro-radiology, cancer therapy, diabetes management and digital diagnostics.
Ms. Evans serves as Chair of the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Fund, Trustee of the Morehead-Cain Foundation, Co-Chair of UNC’s $4.2 billion Campaign for Carolina and Co-Chair of Carolina West and is past Chair of UNC’s Board of Visitors. She also served as adjunct faculty in UNC’s Department of Economics, teaching an undergraduate honors seminar on entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley in 2017 and 2018.
She previously served as Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR), the $16 billion global leader in cancer therapy. For sixteen years prior, she co-founded and led Asante Partners, a strategic advisory firm in Menlo Park and New York focused on mergers, financings and corporate partnerships, where she led client teams in achieving many successful exits.
Ms. Evans began her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in New York after graduating with Highest Honors and Distinction in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar.
